Enjoy a walk in the gardens with Roy, discussing the inspiration and development of plant patterns in the garden. This time of the year one can develop a secureness in the garden. Continue creating a depth of understanding and knowledge and begin to appreciate how to place your plants together, enhancing their lifestyle, aesthetics and care. We hope you can stop out and share your thoughts with Roy and come across some various ways to enrich your gardening practices.
Stop by Northwind between 1 and 4 this Sunday to discuss one garden area from around your house that you would like to see planted in a nature inspired style. Roy will sit with you about 10 minutes and plan your site’s possibilities and recommend some plant patterns that can get you off to a good beginning. How you approach your gardens will have a hand in how they are cared for and can be enhanced in the future. We look forward to spending Sunday with you!
There was a time when everyone considered nature fully alive and sensual to our emotions. Now many folks believe nature is simply the weather not cooperating with a daily activity. Nature is insect bites, birds littering parked cars, too many leaves to clean up, trees blocking our view. Nature is plants not flowering long enough, getting too tall, taking over, needing too much water, just not doing what people want.
Today we will have a conversation about the nature of plants, their relationships with each other and contemporary ways of living a good life with them. We will discuss how native and durable perennials can live together with shrubs, annuals, vegetables and turf. Together we can develop our nature within nature.
