Garden Design Principles and practices

Our perennial garden design is characterized by coming to know the consistent nature of individual plants.

Once you understand a plant’s nature you realize it’s always true to itself.

Having this awareness of plants is valuable, providing us the opportunity to design endless plant relationships that can be placed together creating healthy, dynamic plant communities that are understood how to be cared for, nurtured and loved.

These design practices support healthy, predetermined stewardship actions.    You will be aware of the care and nurturing each garden design will initially require before the plants go in the ground.

Prior to designing the garden we’ll have a conversation about your gardening practices and the economics of time and money.    Our garden design will develop a planting based on your capabilities and time to enjoy gardening.

From year to year the plants will mature, becoming more responsible for their own well-being, creating a tight knit plant community reducing your garden care time.

At your convenience you can add and move plants about in the garden.

We call this ‘Garden It Up’.

Our approach combines plant knowledge, understanding the conditions the plants live in and their sense of personal interactions with you, your family and community.

We look to enhance ecological diversity and promote the awareness of nature inspired lifestyles.

If you’re considering a garden project please contact us.    We would be glad to discuss with you the possibilities of nature inspired, healthy, aesthetic plantings.
